Hi. Thanks for stopping by to read more about me to make sure I am a good fit for you. I have been working for 17 years as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor.
My first job was working at a youth emergency shelter, where I worked with homeless teens aged 11-17. I have worked as a school prevention counselor with high schoolers, worked with students at a community based clinic, hospitals, and private practice. Much of my work is with college students, who are navigating relationships, work, and school.
I work with students who are feeling sad, overthinking about school and relationships, feeling stress or anxiety, getting overwhelmed and feeling out of control. Sometimes, having someone to talk with, that is not your friend, can help your process things and learn how to use coping skills and tools to help you as you launch into adulthood.
I also work with young adults diagnosed with ADD or ADHD and are wanting to incorporate therapy to increase coping strategies and better behavior management.
Student Athletes is another area of counseling I provide for those with mental blocks after an injury or sports performance, and performance anxiety, too. We use mindfulness and CBT, as well as other therapeutic interventions to help you be successful on and off the court.
I work with women, who are single or in relationships, who are balancing work, relationships, and career/schooling. Young moms also benefit from therapy and may want to talk with someone about navigating a career after being home for a while, or who are simply wanting to explore past traumatic issues that have impacted their ability to accomplish goals, balance stress, and explore new ways to maintain a healthy balance with friendships, family, and work/school.
Together, we form goals and create buildable steps to achieve them in a way that promotes healthy boundary setting and sustainable goal reaching.
